OSP RAFTs: Introduction to the Research Data Management Core

Overview

Research Administration Forum & Training sessions (RAFTs) provide training and networking opportunities for the campus research community. Presenters may be from the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), School of Medicine Sponsored Programs Office (SOMSPO), Administrators from Central Offices or Departments, and/or any combination. The goal is to provide learning and discussions on relevant topics in research administration and sponsored projects management.

Objectives

The Research Data Management Core (RDMC) will provide an overview of their goals and services:

  • Learn how the RDMC supports research and the applicable policies regulating research at UNC-CH
  • Learn about the Data Management Plan review process and available tools
  • Learn about Pre-Award services and requirements (i.e. RAMSeS IPF screen)

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) will provide an overview on:

  • Award classifications subject to the RDMC Fee
  • Budgeting for the RDMC Fee
  • Allocation process of the RDMC Fee, including campus dos and don’t’s

RDMC and OSP will also share available resources and answer participant questions.
