The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research opens in a new tab (OVCR) previously announced opens in a new tab upcoming changes from the Office of Science and Technology Policy opens in a new tab (OSTP) that standardizes requirements for Current and Pending (Other) Support and Biographical Sketch (Biosketch) documents. This policy requires federal research funding agencies to use common disclosure forms for these portions of funding application packages for grants and cooperative agreements.

The new common form requirements are in effect for National Science Foundation opens in a new tab (NSF) proposals submitted or due on or after May 20, 2024.

 

New Guidance

To support adherence to this policy, OVCR and the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) are pleased to announce the new Current and Pending (Other Support) and Biosketch Guidance webpage that:

  • Documents these changes
  • Provides timelines for implementation by various federal agencies
  • Includes other helpful tools and information for faculty and staff

Formal training modules on these changes will be launched later this year. Updates will be shared as they become available.

Updated NIH Letter of Institutional Support for Harassment and Discrimination Protections

A requirement for all NIH institutional training grant applications is the inclusion of a letter of support from the University confirming the institution’s commitment ensuring that proper policies, procedures, and oversight are in place to prevent discriminatory harassment and other discriminatory practices. An updated required letter of support (PDF) dated April 30, 2024 is now available in the OSP Proposal Forms – Certifications webpage.
